About the Service

Our Blood Bank has the most modern equipment for the study and processing of blood.

It also has the instrument for intraoperative blood recovery used above all in Cardiovascular Surgery, in some Traumatology procedures and in patients who for various reasons reject the transfusion.

The San Fernando Hospital Clinic Blood Bank follows the recommendations of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the laws and regulations of the Republic of Panama in all its procedures.

The procedure to donate is safe, fast and simple, you just have to meet some requirements, both for the safety of the patient and the donor.

Requirements to be a Donor
  • Age: The donor must be between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • Weight: The donor must weigh more than 110 pounds.
  • Health: The donor must be in good health and not have had Hepatitis.
  • Medications: Very few medications prevent you from making a donation.

The Blood Bank needs everyone, you and your family, friends and neighbors to participate in this noble cause of saving human lives. Remember how rewarding it is and help us save more lives by donating blood regularly.
